Accommodations During Your Stay
Room assignments are based upon the level of care you require or your “acuity” level; your gender; and the availability of beds. Some patient conditions must be monitored more closely than others. Your admitting physician will place you in the most appropriate area based upon your needs.
The beds that are in your room adjust to various positions. The controls for the bed area attached to the side rails. These controls will enable you to raise the head or the foot of the bed. In conjunction with your plan of care, your physician may require that the settings remain constant. For your protection, the bed is equipped with side rails and they should remain up during your stay.
Each room has a television equipped with a remote control. Please be considerate of other patients by keeping the volume low and turning the TV off at bedtime. Any problems with the television should be reported to the staff for correction.
Telephones are provided in each room. Local and toll-free calls may be made at any time from the room by dialing 9 and the number. Long distance and toll calls can be made collect or charged to calling cards by dialing 0.
Northeastern Health System employs a full-time dietitian and chef to meet your nutritional needs. Your physician, as a part of your treatment, may order diets and/or diet counseling. Our staff will help you make meal choices that comply with your prescribed diet. However, a red heart indicates a low fat or diabetic menu option.
Vending machines for snacks and beverages are located in the first floor of the hospital. Free coffee is available at all times in the main lobby and free coffee and tea are available during normal operating hours in the cafeteria.
Family members may send flowers to you at the hospital. The volunteers will deliver flowers directly to your room. For health reasons, flowers are not allowed in ICU patient rooms.
Newspapers may be purchased in the breezeway of the hospital.
The hospital has access to interpreters as well as printed resources in several languages should you require these services.
Northeastern Health System is Tobacco Free Campus. This means no smoking or other tobacco products are allowed anywhere on our grounds or parking lots. Thank you for respecting our policy. Ask us how we can help you and your family get through your visit tobacco-free!
