Medical Assistants receive and process patients, take vital statistics, update medication notes, and assist the Provider in patient care. The duties of medical assistants vary from office to office, depending on the location and size of the practice and the practitioner’s specialty. Medical assistants usually do many different kinds of tasks, handling both administrative and clinical duties and reporting directly to an office manager, physician, or other health practitioner.

Minimum Education Less than High School
Req. Certification/Registration BLS certification
Preferred Education High school or equivalent
Preferred Experience Previous clinical experience
Preferred Course(s) / Training Completion of course for nursing assistants.
Pref. Certification/Registration Certified Nursing Assistant
