Tahlequah is the home of Northeastern State University, the Cherokee Nation, Lake Tenkiller and the scenic Illinois River. Tahlequah provides a “big city style” atmosphere in a rural community. Our residency programs are within one hour of an international airport in Tulsa, Oklahoma without the traffic congestion and delays of a large city.
We have two residency programs – Family Medicine and Internal Medicine. We train medical school graduates in the science and art of medicine, with the goal of having knowledgeable, skillful, and compassionate primary care physicians who are more than able to provide the best medical care to rural and underserved communities, including Tahlequah and its surrounding areas.
